Brief project description

The Sinop region is located in the northern part of Turkey, on the Black Sea coast. It has an area of 5,831 km², making it one of the smaller regions of Turkey (the 59th largest out of a total of 81 regions in terms of area). It is divided into nine districts. The Sinop region has around 205,000 inhabitants, around 38,000 of whom live in the regional capital Sinop.
The creation of the tourist master plan is part of an EU-funded "Technical Assistance" project with a focus on "Rehabilitation of the historic fortress of Sinop". The project is being implemented by Wehdorn Architects from Vienna, in cooperation with the Technical University of Vienna and other project partners from Turkey.
