The Sinop region is located in the northern part of Turkey, on the Black Sea coast. It has an area of 5,831 km², making it one of the smaller regions of Turkey (the 59th largest out of a total of 81 regions in terms of area). It is divided into nine districts. The project is being implemented by Wehdorn Architects from Vienna, in cooperation with the Technical University of Vienna and other project partners from Turkey.
