About the destination:
Kurdistan Region is located in the north of Iraq, has autonomous status and consists of three provinces. The main points of interest include the Erbil Citadel, Dukan Lake, and the mountain villages of Amedi, Rawanduz and Akre.
Scope of Work:
- Module 1 - Analysis of current tourism flows, number of tourists and tourism revenues
- Module 2 - Analysis of the tourism potential for Kurdistan Region (by type of tourism)
- Module 3 - Analysis of the current status of the general infrastructure and the available accommodation facilities in Kurdistan Region
- Module 4 - Analysis of the tourism potential for Kurdistan Region (by geographic area)
- Module 5 - Recommendations regarding the improvement of the attractiveness for tourism investment
- Module 6 - Definition of 50 - 60 concrete tourism investment projects
- Module 7 - Analysis of the current competitivenss of tourism products in Kurdistan Region
- Module 8 - Definition of the major source markets for Kurdistan Region and the competitiveness of Kurdistan Region tourism products in those markets
- Module 9 - Brand strategy for the regional DMO
- Module 10 - Communication strategy for the regional DMO
- Module 11 - Recommendations how to encourage PPP projects in tourism
- Module 12 - Obstacle analysis
- Module 13 - Analysis of the current activities of the public bodies involved in tourism development (including financing, budget, human resources plan and activity plan for the regional DMO)
- Module 14 - Analysis of the potential economic impact of a professional and successful tourism development in Kurdistan Region
