Hotel Master Plan for Gasteinertal, Austria
Client:
DMO of Gasteinertal
Brief project description:
The Gastein Valley is nestled in the impressive natural surroundings of Salzburgerland and at the gateway to the Hohe Tauern National Park and combines the majestic beauty of the mountains with the soothing power of water. It is one of the well-known tourism destinations in Austria and includes the three towns of Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein.
The central objective of the project was to prepare a valley-wide master plan for the further development of the hotel and accommodation sector based on the existing tourism development strategy.
Key elements of the project:
- Identification and preparation of target-oriented project developments in the accommodation sector
- Master plan for hotel development: How many additional hotel beds are acceptable, and in which category? At which locations hotel developments are desired or should be strategically targeted? Which hotel concepts are missing in the destination? How could interested existing facilities be further developed, profiled or adapted based on the intended development strategy?
- Development of suitable hotel concepts
- Brief economic outlook for different hotel concepts at the defined locations
